Biography

 

When no more than a few years of age, Yeganeh began exhibiting her musical talent by playing the piano and traditional Persian instruments Setar and Tombak. But her arduous yearning for music was finally appeased with the violin – the instrument that she has been playing throughout her career. She won the second place in a violin competition at the Youth Music Festival when she was only 11. She got her bachelor’s degree in violin performance from the University of Tehran, and her master’s from the Art University of Tehran. Alongside her life partner, Arash Hazhirazad who is a pianist, she has performed at many a concert hall in Tehran and across the nation.Together, they formed the “Lyra Duet” and released four albums: the debut album named “Tehran-Mars” which won the Gold medal of Global Music Awards in classical crossover genre(Aug-2021) and also has been nominated for the best performance and composition in the 36th Fajr Music Festival “Barbad Music Awards” (Feb-2021) the second named “Eight Minutes and Twenty Seconds” and the third “Vakil Bazaar” which has won the Honorary Diploma in 37th Fajr Music Festival “Barbad Music Awards” (Feb-2022) and silver medal of Global Music Awards in contemporary folk music genre (Aug-2021) and “Akademia Music Awards” for the best Folk / Singer-Songwriter (Jun-2021) and the fourth which has been lately released “Dasht-e Kavir” (Mar-2023). They also released one single track named “Cold Winter” and two remixes, Allegro Moderato from romantic pieces by Antonin Dvorak, Ave Maria by Bach-Gounod, and more are to be released soon. So stay tuned. As a session musician, Yeganeh feels blessed to have collaborated with a multitude of internationally recognized artists and conductors. She is also a member of the all-female Shahrzad (Scheherazade) String Quartet, with whom she performed at the iconic international FeminEast festival in Sweden in 2017, Tedx Tehran in 2017, Du Vert a L’infini festival based in France in 2020 which resonated in UCLA music theory faculty, Eldfesten festival based in Sweden in 2021 and an album “The Other Side” and a single track “Heavy Make up” is also fruits of her coöperation with the Shahrzad.
